Work Experience

Work experience enables our students to spend a period of time out of school learning about a particular job or area of work.

All students are expected to participate in a work experience week as a core part of their Key Stage 4 learning. Over the last five years we have seen massive benefits for students who attend work experience as it allows them to spend time in a working environment, meet new people and learn more about themselves as learners. This year, in order to not interrupt their learning, Year 10 students will attend their work experience placements during Enrichment Week 11- 15 July 2016.

Here are two of the booklets issued to Year 10 2015 students before they go out on their work experience placements.

Year 12

Students in Year 12 often arrange work experiences during school holidays to help them with their career choices; there are also opportunities to complete a placement at the end of Year 12.  Many of the most popular university courses are heavily oversubscribed and relevant work experience can provide valuable evidence of commitment likely to promote students on their UCAS application.
