Wednesday 21 November 2018 PE Kit and cold weather The weather is becoming increasingly colder and due to exams in the sports hall we are likely to be outside for 2 hours. Please ensure your child has enough layers for PE. They are allowed to wear Hat, Gloves, Base layer, Leggings, Black PE jumper, PE rugby top, Black PE and tracksuit bottoms. Students are not allowed to wear their school jumpers as these often get wet or muddy. Coats can be worn in adverse weather.

Wednesday 21 November 2018 Charity Car Wash for Movember Mr Young has organised a charity car wash to take place on Saturday 24th Movember in the car park at BSCS. He has invited his Year 7 science class and the Year 10 football team to be the official work-force for this charitable event! The session runs from 9:00am 12:00pm on Saturday 24th Movember. £5 for a car wash with all money collected going towards The Movember Foundation supporting Male Prostate Cancer Awareness. Tuesday 14 June 2016 Yesterday our debate team travelled to London and competed in the national finals and they came 4th overall (out of 280 schools across the UK)! They were a real credit to the school. It was a long day and they took part in 3 debates so it was a lot of hard work but they were professional and mature throughout the day. We're so proud of them! The students involved were Tom Hill, Maya Thomas, Mia Vindel, Callie Butler and Amy Price. Well done all.

Tickets can be purchased from the school office up until Friday 12th December, but the actual tickets will be given to tutors to distribute during tutor time on 17th December. Tickets must be purchased in advance. A ticket will automatically be allocated for students in receipt of free school meals.

Wednesday 3 September 2014 Small fire in the Science Department Unfortunately today the Science department experienced a small fire which was quickly and effectively contained by Science staff. All students were evacuated out of all the buildings and the fire brigade also attended the incident as a precaution. No students or staff were injured and the School is running normally!

Wednesday 11 June 2014 Year 5 students at Baileys Court managed to solve the mystery of Mr Baker's missing bike Using witness statements and CCTV analysis students manage to track down and identify that it was Bradley Stoke Community School teachers, Mr Shanks and Mr Hill, who stole the bike from outside Abbeywood Community School on Monday. Both Staff members have been warned about future conduct by the Special Police Service from Baileys Court. Well done Officers!

Thursday 22 May 2014 Former BSCS student, Donovan Wilson, offered a one year contract with Bristol Rovers Rovers, meanwhile, yesterday confirmed they had offered youth-team striker Donovan Wilson a chance in the professional ranks with the offer of a one-year deal. Wilson, 17, who can also play on the left-wing, has been at the club since the age of seven after being spotted playing for Bradley Stoke United and has been a regular in the Under-18 side this season.

Wednesday 26 March 2014 Year 11 Mock Interview Day 2014 Students from BSCS and ACS all took part in a fantastic mock interview day today. Local businesses all supported the Academy and acted as interviewers. All students had a 25 minute interview with a real business person and was given feedback from the employer. The students also visited colleges and universities for half of the day for a tour and to see what was on offer. A really successful day for everyone and our thanks go to all the local employers who interviewed the students and our students for being so smart and polite! See the photos here.

Friday 21 March 2014 Sports Relief 2014 All students and staff took part in a one mile run or walk around the local area on Friday 21 March 2014. They were also joined by Year 6 students from Wheatfield Primary School. Students and staff also came to school in non uniform, some sports related, and donated £1 towards this worthy cause. £928.01 was raised in total.

Monday 6 January 2014 BSCS - Primary School Provision There is a proposal to extend the age range of Bradley Stoke Community School to include primary provision. Consultation on the proposal will open on the 6th January for a period of 8 weeks, during which time there will be opportunity to comment or provide feedback. The Olympus Academy Trust Admissions policy will also be updated to reflect the proposed changes. Consultation on the draft policy will be open for the same period.

Tuesday 19 November 2013 AS Geography Fieldwork Trip to Slapton Ley AS level students from BSCS and ACS enjoyed a fantastic week away on a field trip to Slapton Ley in Devon. Geographical fieldwork skills are an essential part of the AS course and form half of the unit 2 exam in the summer.

Wednesday 13 November 2013 Alice In Wonderland The production has around 25 cast members and 10 dancers from all years along with World Challenge students providing tea and cakes before the performance and during the interval. Friday 11 October 2013 Foodbank 2013 Please support this year's BSCS food collection for Foodbank. Last year we collected a brilliant 78.3kg of food to donate to the local branch in Filton Avenue. Monday 16 September 2013 Peru Trip Summer 2013 After two years of planning and fundraising, where students had to individually raise £3995, a group of 14 students embarked on a 4 week expedition to Peru. This involved a challenging five day trek in the Andes mountain range, a community project, where students supported a community with their eco-tourism ambitions, and a jungle phase, which involved learning some essential survival skills to cope with the Amazon rainforest. Monday 17 June 2013 Mr Andy Sharp, Head of Product Design, successfully completed the 17k Royal Marine Endurance Assault Course! In memory of his late father who was a Royal Marine in 42 Commando, Andy completed the Endurance Assault Course this weekend at Lympstone Royal Marine base.
