Post 16 Curriculum

 

Two Levels:

  • Level 3 - A Levels & BTEC
  • Level 2 - GCSEs and BTEC

  

Level 3 Qualifications

Level 3 Courses recently offered include:

  • 33 A Level subjects including a range of minority subjects for example: Accounting, Classical Civilisation, Culture & Communication, Economics, French, Film Studies, German, Government & Politics and Law
  • Level 3 BTEC Programmes in: Applied Sciences, Business Studies, Information Communication Technology, Health & Social Care, Media, Music Performance, Music Technology, Public Services and Sport
  • Enrichment courses: AQA Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), CSLA, Language GCSEs and conversational classes

Level 2 Qualifications

As a partnership we have put together a Pathways Programme which enables students to take a package of courses, which will:

  • Boost their level of qualifications in a range of subjects, including Maths and English, at an appropriate level.
  • Develop their employability skills – through a carefully tailored course and work experience
  • Develop a range of life skills – through courses focusing on aspects such as Personal Finance, Food and Nutrition, First Aid etc.

 

Level 2 Courses include:

  • English Language and Maths courses including: GCSE resits, Functional Skills Level 1 and 2. 
  • A range of BTEC courses at Level 2 such as: BTEC Media, ICT, Public Services and H&Sc
  • An opportunity to develop some work based skills through the L2 BTEC Work Skills course and regular Work Experience opportunities
  • Life skills courses such as: Personal Finance and Driving Skills Awareness
