The following Questions and Answers are frequently posed to the school ICT Support team about accessing the website and Frog. If you are experiencing an issue, please check the information below before contacting the school. Q: How can I view a PDF file, such as the newsletter? A: PDF is an acronym which stands for Portable Document Format. PDF files are viewable and printable on virtually any platform, including Windows, Mac OS, and mobile platforms such as Android. To view PDF files on your computer you will need a PDF Reader, which you can download and install for free from: Adobe Reader http://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/ or Q: What are the minimum requirements to access Frog? A: The functionality of Frog is maintained by Frogtrade. Frogtrade recommends the following minimum requirements to access Frog: Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox 3.6, and Q: The Frog login page is loading in my Internet browser but I can not log in. What is going wrong? A: When you log in to Frog, the information you see is specific to your user. During your visit on Frog, your Internet browser will remember information relevant to you in a file called a 'cookie'. When you have finished using Frog and click 'Log Out', the 'cookie' file is deleted from your computer. If you forget to log out but close your Internet browser to leave Frog, the 'cookie' file is still on your computer. The next time your visit Frog, your Internet browser will try to use the information from the old 'cookie' file without success. You will need to manually remove the old 'cookie' file by choosing 'Delete Browsing History' or 'Clear Recent History' from your Internet browser menu. Q: My Internet browser warns that the Frog website is untrusted. What can I do? A: The information on Frog is kept safe and confidential by requiring users to log on making a secure connection, such as would be made when using online banking. Devices that are connecting to Frog using Internet Explorer 8 will automatically trust the secure connection to Frog. Devices that are trying to connect to Frog using any other Internet browser will need to manually trust the certificate to make a secure connection to Frog. To access Frog using Firefox 3.6 you will need to create a security exception to trust that certificate manually. |
