Cybermentor

Well done to the students below who took part in a 2 day intensive training programme to graduate as a Cybermentor. This training was delivered by the National charity Beatbullying who have trained over 5000 young people nationally to support other young people in tackling bullying.

Their training not only  involved looking in detail at the skills needed to mentor students who are worried about bullying, but also a strong focus on new technologies and the issues and challenges that social networking sites such as Facebook bring. These students from years 7-11 are now fully trained Cybermentors who can confidently deliver 1:1 face to face mentoring, as well as mentor through the Beatbullying Cybermentor site on-line. These students are to be congratulated for the time and commitment that they have shown to the school and we will be spending some time in term 3 planning how they can start to deliver some peer to peer support.
