EU Referendum Debate 22 June 7pm

EU referendum debate 22/06/16 @7 pm: Holy Trinity Church, Bradley Stoke BS32 0BD

The EU referendum is happening on Thursday 23rd June 2016. We will all have an opportunity to decide whether the UK remains in the European Union or leaves. This is probably the most important vote we will cast in our lifetime.  However many people are still confused about the EU referendum issues. Many people are concerned about half-truths and exaggerations or have doubts in their minds and they wish to query the campaigners directly. Media surveys indicate that there will be many floating voters, even up to the day of the referendum.

In these circumstances, Multi-Faith Forum and 'Churches Together' are keen to give you an opportunity to ask the questions you want answered in a public meeting that will consist of a panel of speakers from both the Leave and the Remain sides of the debate. A debate on the EU referendum has been arranged at Bradley Stoke Holy Trinity Church (Broad Croft, Bradley Stoke, Bristol BS32 0BD) on Wednesday, the 22nd of June 2016. Doors will open at 6.30 pm and debate starts after 7pm. Our aim is to give the local people a better chance to make an informed decision about how to vote in the referendum on the following day.

There shall be 3 speakers from each side at the debate. Dr Razvan Constantinescu (UWE Professor and Chairman of Britain Stronger in Europe, West of England), Ms Mandy Cormack (Unilever Board Member) and Mr Tony Dyer (Green party's 2016 Bristol Mayoral candidate) will be speakers from the Remain side. Peter Bone MP, Tom Pursglove MP and Jack Lopresti MP will be speakers from the Leave camp.

Everyone is welcome to attend the debate. This is a FREE event; however only a limited number of seats are available, hence please reserve your place through https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/eu-referendum-debate-north-bristol-tickets-26076204630 as soon as possible. If you haven’t got access to the internet, simply call us or text us and register your interest to attend the debate by giving your name, address and contact details. The debate will adopt a 'Question Time' format with some questions being submitted prior to the meeting as well as an opportunity to ask questions on the evening. If you wish to submit some questions for the panel, please feel free to send your questions in advance via email to eudebate1@gmail.com or via text to 07852 456 253 with the subject "Referendum debate". This event is jointly hosted by Cllr Tom Aditya (Trustee, Bristol Multi-Faith Forum), Revd. Paul Hinckley (Vicar of Bradley Stoke Parish) and Pastor Jamie Finlay (Bridge Community Church, Bristol). We will endeavour to raise as many of your questions for the panel to respond to within the stipulated time frame.

There shall be light refreshments for all the attendees after the debate. There are only few parking spaces available at the venue. There are a few parking spaces on the nearby roads, the Tesco shop (Pear Tree Road) and the Aldi shop at Brookway. However we advise people of the neighbourhood to walk to this event.

We look forward to welcoming you to the venue in what we hope will be an informative and lively debate.  Please take part in our poll during the evening, as the results of this poll will be relayed back to the audience on the night.

VOTING FOR THE REFERENDUM WILL TAKE PLACE THE FOLLOWING DAY, ON THURSDAY 23RD JUNE 2016
