Information regarding safety of students/staff using the Wise Filton Campus or Abbeywood area

We have had a number of female students reporting that they have been approached around Filton Abbeywood and Filton Avenue by men asking them to get in their car/van.

The description of the vehicle at Filton Abbeywood is a dark blue/black car with Euro Taxis written on it. We have also had a report of a large silver 7 seater van with Euro Taxis written on it.

The description of the vehicle on Filton Avenue is that it is a white van with two men in.

These incidents have happened to female students who have either been walking on their own from Filton Abbeywood towards the Filton campus, or have been walking along Filton Avenue.

The college has reported all incidents to the local police who are now working with the college to investigate the issue.

Please could you inform all female students to take extra care when walking to or from the college. Ideally they should be walking in groups of at least 2-3.

If there are any students that are approached or have suspicions about a vehicle in the area, please ask them to contact one of the following members of staff who will be able to record the details and pass them onto the police.
