Meadowbrook Year 5 pupils visit BSCS

On a Friday afternoon in February, Year 10 Citizenship students hosted Year 5 pupils from Meadowbrook as part of their GCSE controlled assessment.
Our students had prepared various creative tasks to raise awareness about the issues they had chosen for their projects. These ranged from local road safety to the importance of education for all children in the world.
The Year 5s were encouraged to do lots of different things from seeing how fast they could build mini-schools to negotiating their way through a maze to empathise with local wheelchair users.

The afternoon was a great success and there was a real buzz in the air.
It was great to see our students showing real leadership skills of organisation, inspiration and planning. They were excellent role models and we look forward to doing more activities like this in the future.
