Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child

Thank you so much for your interest in packing a shoe box for Operation Christmas Child
run by Samaritan’s Purse. Operation Christmas Child reached out to 11 million children in
2017, YES 11 MILLON!! I'm so happy to have been a part of this and it wouldn't have
happened without everyone who donated! So a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who took
part last year. BUT this year, we are doing it again!

Where do the shoeboxes go and who receives them?
Samaritan’s Purse deliver our boxes to 100 countries around the world, for children
affected by war, poverty, natural disaster and disease.

How do I pack a shoebox?
Find a Shoebox
Get an empty medium sized shoebox, and wrap the box and lid separately in Christmas
wrapping paper. Select a gender and age for the child that your box will be for, these are
the age ranges:
• 2-4
• 5-9
• 10-14
On a piece of paper mark if your gift is for a boy or a girl. Select an age category 2-4, 5-9
or 10-14 and place the piece of paper into the shoebox on the top of the packed items.
Please also include YOUR name so we can personally thank you. When we receive the
box, we will stick an official boy/girl label on with the age range, so please do not seal the
box.

Fill with gifts
Time for the fun part! Fill your shoebox with a selection of fun toys, hygiene items and
school supplies. If possible, include one or two special items you know a child will love
such as a doll, cuddly toy or deflated football with pump. A gift guide is included below!
"Wow" Item
Include a toy that a child will immediately love as soon as they open the box.
Why not include a personal note or photo of you or your family?

Make your project donation
This step is not necessary as I know its not easy for everyone to make this donation. A
suggested donation of £5 is requested to cover project costs. This will cover the costs of
processing, shipping and also support the charity. Don't worry if you are unable to make
this donation as your box will still be delivered.

To donate please insert a cash donation of £5 in a sealed envelope or give online on
Samaritan Purse’s website. If you donate through the website, you can print out a barcode
and place it inside your shoebox on top of the contents. This will enable you to track your
shoebox and when it gets delivered, you will receive an email telling you which country
your shoebox gets sent to.

The last step
Once you have completed your box please deliver it to F80 (Ms Warren’s Office) For the
Primary School donations please drop your box at the front office.

Lastly…
Christmas is a time for love, and what a better way to show yours through kindness and
generosity. One simple packed shoebox can turn a child's day, month or even year into
something special. A huge thank you to everyone who is getting involved, this will bring joy
and happiness to a child this Christmas.

Deadline for dropping off boxes is 28th November 2018
Thank you once again for your support and donations!
