Virtual Parent Info Event - Monday 18 October 6 -7pm - Review of Sexual Abuse in Schools and Colleges
Dear Parent(s) and Carer(s),
Virtual Parent Information Event – Monday 18th October, 6 - 7pm
Last year, you may remember that we had to postpone a webinar in which we planned to share our on-going work in response to the Department of Education’s review of sexual harassment and sexual violence in schools. On 10th June, Ofsted published their report into sexual abuse in schools and you can read the full report here Review of Sexual Abuse in Schools and Colleges. The report was very sad reading but it helpfully began to build a common language and set of common definitions in this difficult and sensitive area. Many of these issues are a much wider problem than schools can address. The report said that while schools can play a part, it is not only their sole responsibility to solve it.
We are pleased to now be in a position to host the webinar and would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the virtual information event on this subject, so that we can share with you some of the session material we are delivering to our students in the Secondary and Post 16 phase, as well as to share with you some of the staff training we are delivering. Moving forward, we are keen to have parents involved in our working group and we can share details of this with you at this event.
