World Book Day - Thursday 5 March 2015

To kick-start the week of literacy celebrations, children’s author, Joffre White will visit BSCS on Monday 2nd March.  He will start the day delivering ‘Reading Motivator’ sessions to all our Year 7 and Year 8 students.  Selected students who have shown a real dedication to reading have also been invited to attend a creative writing workshop and buffet lunch with Joffre during period 4 that day.

On World Book Day itself we are delighted that Rebecca Tantony, a local performance poet, will be joining us at BSCS.  She will perform to all our Year 9 students.  She will also be leading two writing workshops during periods 2 and 3 and 40 students across Year 9 have been invited to attend.

Staff are continuing the tradition of dressing up as book characters on World Book Day.  A full write up of these exciting events and photos will be included in the 13th March newsletter.
