About the Friends

My name is Emma Rogers and through my role as Subject Team Leader for Music and the Performing Arts I have seen first-hand the importance of parental/carer support, involvement and engagement. Since I have been here I have strongly believed that Bradley Stoke Community School is in desperate need of a PTA. I decided to be proactive and two years ago, at the last parents evening of the last academic year I managed to persuade several lovely ladies to help establish the FRIENDS@BSCS.

We have organised many events over the last couple of years, a Come and Sing Day; several Quizzes and a Ladies Night, each event has been a great success which saw staff and the local community come together to support the school.   So far we have raised over £7000 which is a massive step in the right direction! The FRIENDS@BSCS are not only about raising money for a much needed outdoor seating area but to strengthen links with the wider community, engage parents with the day to day running of the school and use their talents, skills and experiences to benefit the lives of BSCS students. I hope like me you see the importance of the role that the school plays with the community and equally how important you are to the school and continue to support our events, our students and our staff.

Ongoing at the moment we have the Vintage Clothes sale, where the FRIENDS@BSCS will be selling second hand school uniform at PIEs, plus the Grand Xmas Raffle, tickets on sale for £1 at various events of the coming month.  Don’t forget that our next quiz is on Friday 28th November- download your entry form from the homepage now. Deadline for entry is 21st November.
